Paula works as a Research Fellow on Who Cares and is involved in conducting and analysing our interviews. She is a qualitative researcher and passionate about inclusive research. She has come to Disability Studies theory and an Ethic of Care through previous work with people with Intellectual Disability. She teaches at the School of Health on Identity and personal experiences of living with illness and disability.

Professor Gill Haddow

Principal Investigator

Gill is a sociologist who has mainly worked and researched in the areas of biomedicine, technology and the body. It is only recently that she has developed an interest in the areas of disability, chronic illness, neurodiversity and pain. In the project she leads on how we might define and apply concepts such as 'care' and 'slow scholarship' although these are topics that everyone contributes to.

Research Fellow

Claire is working at the intersection of disability policy, organisational systems, and human-factors thinking. Their work in Work Package 1 focuses on implementation gaps and the structures needed to make policy effective for disabled staff. Claire’s background spans linguistics, emergency response, employment law and occupational health & safety, bringing a practical, systems-level perspective to inclusion. They specialise in translating lived-experience insights into actionable frameworks for institutions.
